Nagravox’s Solution to Relays Issues. 

Most  audio, power supply and protection relays on Revox and Studer equipment are getting close to the end of their life.  On the audio side with the very low switching voltages / currents involved (mv / ma) the contacts eventually oxidise and do not switch cleanly resulting in sporadic audio, noise, intermittent signal.  On the PSU and protection side contacts eventually wear out and build up some resistance or even fail after many switching cycles. All Nagravox electronic and full monty kits from 1 Jan 2025 have the replacement relay sub kits  listed here included in them. 

 Why did Nagravox develop a comprehensive audio relay project? After all there are some products available in the market.  We liaised and tried to work with existing suppliers - some just diy enthusiasts trying to make a buck. We also did a candid assessment of exactly what’s available, how effective it was and in the end decided we could do a better job, cost affectively with a better quality product worthy of being installed in a Revox or Studer.

 Our base PCB boards have double sided thick copper tracks, through hole plated pads, protection masks and silkscreen printed. We use modern new manufactured relays with gold / palladium / silver contacts. In the spirit of our down to earth diy kit philosophy some relays are offered as a really simple kit that is easy to put together taking just a few minutes with our novel pin assembly jig.  Really easy!

1.  Individual relay kits in case you just need a particular one. Note that some are a pair (2x)  eg B77 oscillator
2. We list complete relay kits for a particular model covering all applicable boards.
3. In the selection drop down menus - if it says its "UNAVAILABLE" it means that for that model, the option is not applicable. (Sorry - Shopify does not blank it out).

IF YOU HAVE ORDERED AN ELECTRONIC OR FULL MONTY KIT?

The relays are included in the kit – you don’t need to order any separately. The basic kits do not have relays.  All the more reason to consider a full kit!
